Thomas Jefferson 1195

I never yet saw an instance of one of two disputants convincing the other by argument. I have seen many on their getting warm, becoming rude, and shooting one another. Conviction is the effect of our own disspassionate reasoning, either in solitude, or weighing within ourselves disspassionately what we hear from others standing uncommitted in argument ourselves. It was one of the rules which above all others made Doctr Franklin the most amiable of men in society 'never to contradict anybody.' If he was urged to announce an opinion, he did it rather by asking questions, as if for information, or by suggesting doubts. When I hear another express an opinion, which is not mine, I say to myself ...

“A gem cannot be polished without friction, nor a man perfected without trials.”
Chinese Proverbs quotes

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human enough hope to make you happy.”

That which causes us trials shall yield us triumph: and that which make our hearts ache shall fill us with gladness. The only true happiness is to learn, to advance, and to improve: which could not happen unless we had commence with error, ignorance, and imperfection. We must pass through the darkness, to reach the light.”
Albert Pike quotes

The fiery trials through which we pass will light us down in honor or dishonor to the latest generation.”
Abraham Lincoln quotes

“What seems to us as bitter trials are often blessings in disguise” Oscar Wilde

Quotations “Occasionally, we receive questions as to the propriety of Church members receiving government assistance instead of Church assistance. Let me restate what is a fundamental principle. Individuals, to the extent possible, should provide for their own needs. Where the individual is unable to care for himself, his family should assist. Where the family is not able to provide, the Church should render assistance, not the government.” (Elder Ezra Taft Benson, General Conference, April 1977)

“Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppres...sion and resistance.”
Robert F. Kennedy
Capetown, June 6th 1966

"U.S. citizens should follow the First Presidency’s counsel to study the Constitution. They should be familiar with its great fundamentals: the separation of powers, the individual guarantees in the Bill of Rights, the structure of fede...ralism, the sovereignty of the people, and the principles of the rule of the law. They should oppose any infringement of these inspired fundamentals."

What we need

These are the impressions that are coming upon me.

1. Having sprouts in my food storage
2. Having fruit and nuts trees on my property

Besides the economic benefits of growing your own foods, have you ever thought about the possibility of an arrack terrorism on the food supply?(this could be instigated by many different enemies, foreign and domestic. What about the benefits and satisfaction of being self sufficient and growing your own food?
